Shania, Chloe, and I went to Nashville on Monday to visit with them and that was an adventure, to say the least! It was funny though, and we laughed a lot. While I have driven in Nashville before, it was always with Jamie by my side telling me every move to make, so needless to say, it was a bit nerve racking. I will say though, that I only got honked at twice and flipped off once (same guy that honked), so hey, not too bad for the first try in the big city. One thing is for sure...I am NOT a city girl!!!
But, we had a nice visit and Jordyn seems to be perking really well. I think that most adults would probably be complaining more, actually (she is one tough cookie, but we all knew that already!). They examined her surgery site on Tuesday morning and the graft took (praise God for answered prayers!), so she was allowed to go home.
I know that if nothing else, they can at least rest better and be more comfortable in their own home. Jordyn is dependent on others for pretty much everything at this point, so that has been an adjustment for Jordyn and Davida. She has a long road of recovery ahead, but one major milestone is out of the way. Now they can focus on the next and take things one day at a time. I've told Davida that sometimes having a strong-willed personality (like Jordyn has) can be an asset!
On another cool note...Jordyn, Davida, and Kenny got to meet Cindy McCain. There were only a select few that got chosen and Jordyn was among them. They talked with her a bit, got their picture taken and autographs. That was a pretty neat note to leave the hospital on. Jordyn said she thought she had some Botox....Hahahaha....you think?!?!
