Labor Day Weekend 2009

We had a nice restful weekend. Saturday, Nana and Pawpaw came for a visit to watch Abbi play soccer. Who, by the way, scored 2 out of the 3 goals for her team. WOOHOO! She even dribbled it between somebody's legs, swooped around on the other side, and scored for one of them. She was very proud of herself. We were too!

I have to say, We are really enjoying the soccer. I didn't really know much about the game until a month ago, but I'm learning and it is a lot of fun to watch. Her team is doing excellent, but the Upward program is just so great. It is hard not to love it!

Sunday, we had another great worship service in the new sanctuary. It is still very cold in there. Yes, churches are usually cold, but I swear, this is unusually cold. Even Jamie was cold and he never complains (usually the opposite). Brrrrrrrrr! We don't have night church on holidays, so that is always nice too. We just kind of hung out since it was raining. The kids broke out the Wii, which they have literally not played in months. I'm sure it'll soon get more of a workout since winter is upon us.

Yesterday, we decided to make a Sam's Club run, which the kids love. They love to go and get "examples" (samples), which are around every corner. We went and loaded up on apples from the orchard again. Love that place! The apples are so juicy and big and cheaper than the grocery store! We also went for a bike ride to the soccer field and Abbi and the kids kicked around the balls. It was a pretty good day.

Today, back to the old grind. Micah tried out for school choir and should find out tomorrow if he made it. We are crossing our fingers on that one. He really wants to do it and since it goes hand in hand with Drama, we are allowing him 2 activities.

Nana thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with the grandchildren and Jamie and Buffy. They are growing so fast. Micah looks so big in one of the pictures that I took.

All the kids are growing like weeds! I know that you all can tell more since you don't see him every day. I have also noticed a real "maturity" about him lately.
